Msgr. Dario E. Viganò visiting professor in Rio de Janeiro for the III Seminário de Comunicação "Deus vive na Cidade"
Rio de Janerio - From September 13th to the 16th 2016 the III Seminário de Comunicação in the Archdiocese will be held in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, organized by the Centro de Estudos do Sumaré and by the Archdiocese. The subject of the conference is "Deus vive na Cidade: A igreja em saída para comunicarlo". Mons. Dario Edoardo Viganò, Prefect of the Secretariat for Communication of the Holy See and Professor of Theology of Communication at the Pontifical Lateran University, will intervene as visiting professor and hold two lectures. The first lecture will be "The Heritage of the Means of Social Communication", while the second will be about "Jesus in Cinema". Visiting professors together with Monsignor Viganò will be father Jose Maria La Porte, Dean of the Faculty of Institutional Social Communication at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross.

Msgr. Dario E. Viganò at the Venice Film Festival to confer the Bresson Award to the Russian Director Andrei Konchalovsky
Venice Lido - At the 73rd Venice Film Festival, Friday September 9th, 2016 at 11 AM, Mons. Dario Edoardo Viganò, Prefect of the Secretariat for Communication of the Holy See, will confer the Robert Bresson Award to the Russian Director Andrei Konchalovsky, in the presence of the President of the Fondazione Ente dello Spettacolo don Davide Milani. The ceremony will be presented by Lorena Bianchetti, journalist and TV presenter of "A Sua Immagine" (In His Image) Rai Uno. The Robert Bresson Award, established in 1999, is assigned each year at the Venice Film Festival by the Fondazione Ente dello Spettacolo and by the «Rivista del Cinematografo», in agreement with the Holy See, to the Director who has given significant testimony of the difficult path involved in the search for the spiritual meaning of existence. In the previous editions it was given to a: Giuseppe Tornatore, Manoel de Oliveira, Theo Angelopoulos, Krzysztof Zanussi, Wim Wenders, Jerzy Stuhr, Zhang Yuan, Daniel Burman, Walter Salles, Aleksandr Sokurov, Mahamat Saleh-Haroun, Jean-Pierre e Luc Dardenne, Ken Loach, Amos Gitai, Carlo Verdone and Mohsen Makhmalbaf.
